Weekend feeling

Education Support Professional Council consists of thirteen (13) members all of whom are ESP school employees and members of the Illinois Education Association. The ESP council's goal is to represent and support ESP's throughout Illinois.

We know that our schools couldn’t run without the amazing education support professionals who are typically the first to arrive at school as they unlock doors and turn on lights. They are some of the first people to greet students when they arrive at school in the morning, who give students the academic support they need to become successful scholars, who carefully assist with their health, safety, and nutritional needs, and are the last people who see students safely home at the end of the day. The value of their work is priceless.
Join us for a two-day event offering:

| Education Support Professionals Saturday | Sept. 23 | 10-11:30 a.m. ESPs across Illinois support classrooms, districts and universities, and our students couldn’t learn without us! Join us this Saturday for our ESP virtual celebration as we honor you, celebrate all that we have accomplished and continue to grow our rESPect campaign. There will be prizes! We know that support staff are typically the first to arrive at school as they unlock doors and turn on lights. So it’s time we start treating them that way! rESPect is a statewide campaign by ESPs, with the support of IEA staff, to improve working conditions by focusing on four areas: Wages, Health Insurance, Pensions, and Retention, Recruitment, and Job Duties. Join us to learn how you can help bring the change we need.

I’m always amazed at all of the great work that is done and even greater people who give of their time to advocate for our members. I’m extremely proud to be able to bring my voice to this board to elevate the successes and challenges education support professionals face.
