This Friday, Senator Tammy Duckworth will be holding a press conference to introduce legislation she is putting forward for The Educational Support Professional Family Medical Leave Act and is looking for stories from our ESP members to share!
By federal law, many employees are able to take unpaid leave for themselves when illness or other medical issues arise. Some ESPs however, don’t meet the hours necessary to qualify. Some in Congress want to fix this and we need your help by telling them how this situation can hurt ESPs and their families, and how fixing it can help.
Please answer the following questions by leaving a comment on this post:
1) Are you able to take Family and Medical Leave in your job?
2) If not, how has that impacted you or your family?
3) How would having access to Family and Medical Leave help you and your family?
